Mental Health First Aid & Take 5 for Mental Health

MHIM-LOGO

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

Mountain View United Church offers Mental Health First Aid classes for seminary students, faith leaders, and community members from across the Denver Metro Area.

By providing accurate information about mental health conditions with humor and compassion, we can dismantle the stigma around mental illness and empower faith leaders to serve individuals and families living with mental health and substance use challenges. Pastor Amy Petré Hill is a certified Mental Health Instructor and offers MHFA to other faith communities at cost. To find out more about MHFA, go to www.mentalhealthfirstaid.org and contact Pastor Amy.
